Position Summary

Our Accounting Clerk is an integral part of the our accounting team, and reports to the Accounting Manager. Candidate should be responsible, energetic, interested and knowledgeable. Real estate accounting experience is a plus but not required. Candidate should have the aptitude for training in particulars of our properties and systems, and interest in getting things right. Accuracy and attention to detail are a must. We work as a team here, so open communication, asking for guidance when needed, and good attitude are helpful and appreciated.

Overview of Job Duties

  • Process Accounts Payable
  • Process Accounts Receivable
  • Reconcile Bank Statements
  • Prepare daily deposits
  • Prepare and process journal entries
  • Prepare annually 1099s for multiple entities
  • Monitor, process and reconcile credit card use and statements
  • Prepare and distribute tenant statements for multiple properties
  • Manage and reconcile petty cash accounts
  • Provide assistance to the Accounting Manager in coordination and preparation of documents associated with annual tax returns
  • Processing and allocation of employee timesheets
  • Attendance and participate in staff meetings as needed
  • Support members of the Management Team
  • Perform other related duties as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Two+ years college education; three+ years of related accounting experience; or equivalent of both

Extensive experience and comfort level with Microsoft Office products

US Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States

Willingness to undergo required background check

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience, starting at $45,000/year

Insurance

Full-time employees are eligible for coverage under our group health insurance plan after a sixty day period, with 90% of the cost paid by Fulton Hill Properties. Employees have the option to extend coverage to their dependents and spouse at their own expense.

Annual Leave

All employees have ten days of earned annual leave, which may be used in one hour increments. Any unused leave is compensated at 1/2 the salary rate at the end of the year.

Holidays

Seven paid holidays are provided – New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. The Company observes 1/2 days on New Year’s Eve, Christmas Eve, and the Day before Thanksgiving.

Reviews

Salary review will be conducted annually and performance reviews will be semi-annual. An initial review will be conducted after ninety days of employment.

Employees are eligible to participate in the company 401(k) plan after 60 days employment.
